Overview

This document describes the Livoo Electric Mincer, model DOP118, an appliance designed for chopping small quantities of food in a household setting. The manual emphasizes safety and proper use to ensure user satisfaction and prevent damage or injury.

Function Description

The Livoo Electric Mincer is a compact kitchen appliance primarily used for chopping various food ingredients. Its core function involves a motor unit driving a blade assembly within a plastic bowl to process food. The appliance is designed for short-time duty, with a maximum continuous operating time of 90 seconds, after which it requires a cooling period. It is suitable for tasks such as chopping onions, stewed fruit, garlic, biscuits, cheese, nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts), hard-boiled eggs, meat, and ham. The mincer operates with a simple press-down switch on the motor unit, which activates the blades.

Usage Features

The mincer is composed of several key parts: a power unit (motor), a switch, a plate, a blade, a plastic bowl, and a power cord. Some models may also include a sprinkler attachment.

Before first use, the bowl, plate, and blade should be washed in warm soapy water. To operate, the blade is placed onto its supporting pin inside the bowl. Ingredients are then filled into the bowl, ensuring it is not overfilled, as the appliance is designed for small quantities. The plate is then placed on the bowl, locking into position and covering the blade insert. Finally, the motor unit is replaced and turned clockwise until it locks properly; if not correctly closed, the appliance will not turn on.

Once assembled and plugged into a 230-240V~ 50Hz outlet, the user holds the bowl with one hand and presses down on the switch with the other hand to activate the mincer. The appliance starts immediately upon pressing the switch. It is crucial to hold the bowl firmly during operation.

The manual provides a table with recommended maximum quantities and processing times for various ingredients. For example, 60g of onions (cut into 8 pieces) can be chopped in 4-8 seconds using a pulse action. Stewed fruit (50g, about 5g per piece) takes 8 seconds. Garlic (50g) also uses a pulse action for 4-8 seconds. Biscuits, cheese, almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts (all 15-30g) typically take 12 seconds. Hard-boiled eggs (two yolks) are processed in 4-8 seconds using a pulse action, while meat (50g, about 5g per piece) and ham (50g) take 8 seconds.

Helpful hints for optimal use include:

  • Always ensure blades are in place before adding food.
  • If the blade stops or does not move freely, immediately release the start button, disassemble, and remove any obstruction.
  • If the blade does not reach full speed instantly, stop and remove some food.
  • PULSE ACTION is recommended for moist or soft ingredients, with each pulse lasting only a split second.
  • Uniformly sized pieces of food contribute to even chopping.

The manual also includes a recipe for mayonnaise, demonstrating the appliance's versatility. For mayonnaise, ingredients like yolk, mustard, water, vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper should be at the same temperature. After adding initial oil, the ingredients are premixed for 10 seconds, then the remaining oil is added, and the mincer operates for another 10 seconds.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of the Livoo Electric Mincer.

  • Cleaning: Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. The surface of the power unit can be wiped with a damp cloth, possibly with a little washing-up liquid, and then dried thoroughly. It is critical never to immerse the power unit in water and to avoid using any proprietary cleaners that might damage the appliance. The blade can be washed under warm running water. The bowl and plate should be washed with warm water and dishwashing liquid.
  • Storage: After cleaning, ensure all parts are dry before storing. The appliance should be stored out of reach of children.

Safety Precautions

The manual emphasizes several safety precautions:

  • Verify that the wall outlet voltage matches the appliance's rated voltage.
  • Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or if it has malfunctioned or been damaged in any way. A damaged supply cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
  • Never operate the product with wet hands, spill liquid into it, or submerge it in water to reduce the risk of electric shock.
  • Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near children or infirm persons. Children should not play with the appliance.
  • Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas burner or a heated oven.
  • The appliance is for household use only and should not be used outdoors.
  • Exercise extreme care when handling cutting blades, especially when emptying the bowl or during cleaning, as they are very sharp.
  • Do not touch the cutting blades or insert any objects (knives, forks, spoons, etc.) into the bowl while the product is operating. A spatula may only be used when the product is not in operation.
  • Never operate the product when the bowl is empty, and do not remove the bowl lid before the blades have come to a complete stop.
  • The plastic bowl cannot be used in a microwave or heated directly or through heating water.
  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
  • Always operate the unit with the cover in position.
  • Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling, or cleaning.
  • Switch off the appliance and disconnect from the supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move during use.
  • The appliance must be kept clean at all times, especially parts that come into direct contact with food.
  • Competent qualified electricians should perform any repairs to avoid danger.

By following these instructions, users can ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance of their Livoo Electric Mincer.
