Positioning the Harmony Link
After the Harmony Link has been set up, the USB cable and power should be disconnected so the device
can be positioned for use. For best results, the Harmony Link should be positioned where it has a strong
connection to the wireless network. Here are some guidelines for positioning the Harmony Link.
Direct Line of Sight
Ideally, the Harmony Link should be positioned on top of an open cabinet, beside the entertainment
devices. This allows the Harmony Link signal direct access to the entertainment devices.
Indirect Line of Sight
If the Harmony Link is positioned so that it does not have a direct line of sight to the entertainment
devices, the signal may be able to reach them by bouncing off of walls, floors, and ceilings. However, if
the ceilings are high, or the back wall of the room is too far away, it may need to be positioned closer to
the entertainment devices.
Additionally, a large flat-screen television may act as a sheild from the signal trying to reach the Harmony
Link. Moving the Harmony Link further in front of or to one side of the television may correct the problem.
