To address this, push the air control in before opening the door, then open the door approximately 1 inch to allow air to enter the firebox for a few seconds. If the smoke consistently flows up the chimney, you can then fully open the door. If the draft is insufficient, adding more pipe or a draft-inducing cap may help.
