What to do if my M-tech MT-700 Marine Radio reports weak transmit signals?
    • P
      pamelalewisAug 11, 2025
Weak transmit signals, even on HI power, can stem from antenna issues. Have a technician test the transmitter output power and antenna VSWR. Also, inspect the antenna cable for nicks, as wet coaxial cable absorbs transmitter power.

Why is there no sound from my M-tech MT-700 speaker?

      Jenna FriedmanAug 17, 2025
If there's no sound from the speaker, several factors could be at play. First, check that the squelch control isn't set too high by setting the SQ control full CCW, and that the volume isn't too low by setting the PWR/VOL CW. Also, ensure the mic button isn't stuck, blocking the channel; try selecting a different channel and look for the TX annunciator in the display. Finally, a faulty external speaker or cable could be the culprit; unplug the external speaker cable to test.

Why are latitude and longitude coordinates not displayed on my M-tech MT-700?
    • W
      wwilliamsAug 29, 2025
If latitude and longitude coordinates aren't showing, first ensure the Lat/Lon position display is turned On by using Menu – Data Set – LL Position. Next, check the GPS cable and connections for any faults. Finally, confirm that the GPS is functioning correctly and that the output format is NMEA 0183 with GLL, GGA, RMC or GNS sentence selected.

      Zoe LeachSep 4, 2025
A buzzing sound from the speaker while the engine is running is often due to ignition or charging system noise. Try rerouting the DC power cable, installing a noise filter on the alternator and DC power cable, and using resistive spark plug wires.
