Fifth wheel coupling
Hitching semi-trailers
DANGER!
Danger of injury!
People can be severely injured by being crushed during
shunting.
X Always make sure that there is nobody between the
MT and trailer when coupling.
X Never let the trailer run onto the MT.
X The MT must always be hitched to the stationary
semi-trailer.
DANGER!
Danger of injury!
If the fifth wheel coupling is not properly locked, the
semi-trailer can run loose and injure persons.
X Make sure the “fifth wheel coupling” control light is
on. The fifth wheel coupling is properly locked then.
DANGER!
Danger of injury!
If the bolt is inserted into the rear tow coupling, it can
overlap the slide-on blocks.
The semi-trailer cannot be properly secured in the tow
coupling while hitching. The semi-trailer may slip off
and injure persons.
X Make sure the bolt is inserted into the front tow
coupling and not into the rear one while hitching.
