Loss of oil or fluid
X Look under the MT and check if you see pools of oil and/or
water.
3 If this is the case, check more thoroughly and find the
cause.
Possible sources are:
z Oil loss – engine, transmission, axle transmission,
z Loss of coolant – engine,
z Battery acid.
Engine coolant level
The equalising reservoir for the engine coolant is located
behind the driver's cab above the transmission cover
(see Fig. 85).
WARNING!
Danger of injury!
The cooling system is pressurised.
Hot coolant may emerge when the cooling system is
opened and scald skin and eyes.
X Open the cooling system only when the coolant's
temperature is below 90 °C (can be read on the
display for engine coolant temperature when the
ignition is on).
X Unscrew the cap slowly and allow the pressure to
escape completely before opening.
X Wear suitable protective gloves, clothing, and
goggles when handling coolant.
WARNING!
Danger of poisoning!
There is danger of poisoning when you swallow
coolant.
X Never swallow coolant.
X Never pour coolant into drinking containers.
