Transmission oil level
CAUTION!
Transmission damage!
If the oil level is too high or too low, this can result in
damage to the transmission.
X Make sure that the oil level never exceeds the
“HOT-FULL” or drops below the “HOT-ADD” marking
of the dip stick when the oil is at operating
temperature.
X Please make sure that the operating panel display
displays “oL ok” (oil level is okay) in the oil level
mode.
X Use only authorised types of transmission oil.
You can check the oil level with the oil dip stick or read it out on
the display “Oil level mode” in the operating panel.
In order to check the oil level precisely, the following conditions
must be met:
z The MT is parked on level ground.
z The transmission is shifted into neutral N.
z The engine is running at idle speed.
z The transmission output shaft stands still, i.e., the MT does
not move.
z The operating temperature lies between 70 °C and 90 °C.
z The transmission oil needs to settle, which means that the
MT has not moved for at least two minutes.
The operating temperature is reached when the MT
has been driven under load and the engine coolant
temperature indicator on the combination display
instrument has stabilised at the normal operational
temperature.
