- Safety Precautions:

- Cleaning:

- Defrosting:
- Frequency: Defrost the freezer when frost on the walls is excessive, or 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, typically every 3 months.
- Procedure:
- Remove all frozen food and place it in a cooler.
- Unplug the freezer (power supply light should be off).
- Remove the interior drain plug by pulling it straight out.
- Place a shallow pan outside the exterior drain outlet to collect defrost water.
- Allow ice to melt naturally. Pouring warm (not boiling) water can speed up the process.
- Clean the interior, replace the drain plug, plug the unit back in, and allow it to cool for an hour before returning food.
- Adjust the temperature control to the preferred setting.
- Caution: Do not use boiling water or sharp/metallic instruments for defrosting.
- Vacation Time:
- Short Vacations (less than three weeks): Leave the freezer operating.
- Long Vacations (several months): Remove all food, unplug the power cord, clean and dry the interior thoroughly. Leave the door slightly open (blocked if necessary, or removed) to prevent odor and mold growth.
- Moving the Freezer:
