Overview

This document provides the user and installation guide for the Maidaid Halcyon AMH55WS pumped waste dishwasher, manufactured in June 2021. It covers essential information for safe operation, installation, usage, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description:

The Maidaid Halcyon AMH55WS is a professional heavy-duty dishwasher designed for commercial use. It features a pumped waste system, allowing for flexible drain connections up to 1 meter high. The machine is intended for washing dishes, cutlery, and other machine-washable objects. It offers various wash cycles, including short, medium, and long washes, as well as a continuous washing option. The appliance can be configured with an automatic start-up function and includes a resin regeneration system for water softening (optional). A self-diagnosis system is integrated to warn of malfunctions.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Noise Pressure Level (according to EN ISO 4871):
    • LpA Max = 55dB Kpa=2.5dB for undercounter versions
    • LpA Max = 65dB Kpa=2.5dB for hood versions
    • LpA Max = 76dB Kpa=1.5dB for utensil washer versions
  • Max Inlet Water Temperature: 50°C
  • Max Inlet Water Pressure: 4bar (400kPa)
  • Water Supply Flow Rate: No less than 20 l/min
  • Water Hardness (recommended): Internal water softener for >14 °f (8 °dH), external water softener for >35 °f (19.5 °dH) or for machines without internal softener if >14 °f (8 °dH).
  • Drain Connection: Pumped waste allows for drain connection up to 1 meter high.
  • Electrical Connection:
    • Requires an omnipolar circuit breaker with a contact gap of at least 3mm and thermal cutout or fuses.
    • Mains voltage and frequency must match nameplate ratings.
    • Must include a grounding system.
    • System impedance Zsys must be less than or equal to Zmax (0.21 Ω for utensil washers, 0.24 Ω for hood, 0.41 Ω for undercounter).
    • Power cable: Exclusively type H07RN-F with current capacity at 60°C.
      • Three-phase: 5x2.5 mm² (up to 20 A), 5x4 mm² (up to 30 A), 5x6 mm² (up to 38 A), 5x10 mm² (up to 54 A).
      • Single-phase: 3x1.5 mm² (up to 16 A), 3x2.5 mm² (up to 25 A).
  • Ambient Operating Conditions:
    • Temperature: 4°Cmin to 40°Cmax (average 30°C)
    • Altitude: Up to 2000 metres
    • Relative Humidity: Max 30% at 40°C / max 90% at 20°C
  • Storage and Transport Temperature: -10°C to 55°C (peaks up to 70°C for no longer than 24 hours).

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features ON/OFF button (1), PROGRAMME SELECTION button (2), START button (3), DISPLAY INFORMATION (4), and STATUS BAR (LED) (5).
  • Switching On: Press ON/OFF (1). The STATUS BAR (5) indicates heating progress; a fixed central LED signifies optimal wash conditions.
  • Filling the Rack: Use suitable racks, avoid overloading, and ensure dishes are wiped clean of solid residues. Plates should face upwards, cutlery handle-end down. Avoid mixing silver and stainless steel cutlery.
  • Cycle Selection and Start-up: Select a wash cycle using PROGRAMME SELECTION (2) and press START (3). The STATUS BAR (5) indicates cycle progression.
  • Continuous Washing (Optional): An extended cycle where duration can be varied by pressing START (3) to interrupt wash and start rinse.
  • Automatic Cycle Start-up: Enables the chosen cycle to start automatically when the door is closed. Activated by holding START (3) for five seconds with the door open.
  • Emptying the Dishwasher:
    • No Drain Pump: Switch off, remove integral filter (Fig.7A), pull up overflow pipe (Fig.8B), wait for tub to empty, and clean tub filter (Fig.8C).
    • With Drain Cycle (Optional): Remove integral filter (Fig.7), remove overflow (Fig.9), close door, select "dr" cycle, press START (3). Machine runs a drain cycle and switches off. Clean tub filter (Fig.8C) if necessary.
  • Turning Off: Press ON/OFF (1).
  • Resin Regeneration (Optional): When "SLT" warning appears, add approximately 700g of large-grain kitchen salt to the container (Fig.11) using the supplied funnel. Fill with water first on initial fill.
  • Display Information: Press PROGRAMME SELECTION (2) for five seconds to view wash temperature ("t"), rinse temperature ("b"), and total wash cycles ("CC").
  • Viewable Messages: Includes "do" (Door open), "EC" (Number of cycles carried out), "b" (Rinse temperature), "End" (End of cycle), "t" (Wash temperature), "AS" (Automatic start enabled), "Pr 1/2/3" (Short/Medium/Long wash), "Lo" (Continuous wash), "dr" (Final drain), "rEG" (Regeneration cycle or request), "SLT" (No salt in the softener).
  • End of Shift: Drain machine, disconnect power, close water cock, perform maintenance, and leave door ajar to prevent odors.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Rules: Always drain water, shut off power, and close water supply cock before maintenance. Do not use water under pressure. Clean body panels when cold with steel-specific products. Drain boiler and wash pump if there's a risk of ice.
  • Cleaning: Regular sanitizing treatment with non-corrosive commercial products is recommended.
  • Cleaning the Filter Unit: Perform daily or when filters are dirty. Remove and clean baskets, empty tub, remove and clean all filters. Do not use abrasive products. Restore all parts.
  • Cleaning the Arms: Wash and rinse arms are easily removed for cleaning nozzles and preventing blockages (Fig.10). Undo nut R, remove arms, wash under running water, clean nozzles with a toothpick, clean arm rotation pins and drainage area. Restore arms and check free rotation.
  • Self-Diagnostics: The machine displays error codes for various malfunctions, such as "Er 01" (No rinsing), "Er 02" (No drainage), "Er 03" (Rinsing temperature reset fault), "Er 04" (Water filling in tank fault), "Er 05/06" (Tank thermometer fault), "Er 07/08" (Boiler thermometer fault), "Er 09" (Boiler loading time out), "Er 21" (Insufficient rinse), "Er 22" (Tank temperature reset fault), "Er SF" (Electro-mechanical safety device), and "Er SL" (Level safety switch). Switching the dishwasher off and on again "resets" signals. If problems persist, contact an Authorized Service Centre.
  • Settings: Configurable by a qualified technician. Access settings menu by pressing buttons 2 and 3 together for 5 seconds with the machine in standby and door open. Parameters include Language, Boiler Temperature, Tank Temperature, Thermo-Stop, Energy Saving, Detergent Pump operation, Rinse Aid Pump operation, Manual Rinse operation, Dosage Detergent time, Dosage Rinse Aid time, Water Hardness (for resin regeneration), Set Number Service Cycles, and Autostart Autoenabling. Save changes by holding button 1 for a few seconds.
