Use of alternative fuels, such as E-20 (20% ethanol), E-85 (85% ethanol) or any fuels not meeting MAKITA

requirements are not approved for use in MAKITA 2-stroke gasoline engines!

Check if the STOP switch is actuated, or if there's a fault or short-circuit in the spark plug cap or the spark plug itself is defective. Other potential issues include the combination switch being in the Choke position, a defective carburetor, a dirty suction head, or a bent or interrupted fuel line. Additionally, inspect the cylinder base packing ring, radial shaft packings, cylinder or piston rings, and ensure the spark plug seals correctly. Finally, a broken spring in the starter or broken parts inside the engine could also be the cause.
