Why won't my Makita EB5300TH Blower engine start?
- JJason Smith DDSAug 22, 2025
If your Makita Blower engine won't start, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure you've primed the pump by pushing it 7 to 10 times. Check the fuel level and replenish if low. Examine the fuel filter for clogs, cleaning or replacing it as necessary. Also, make sure the spark plug is clean, properly gapped, and securely attached. If the fuel is old, replace it, as deteriorated fuel can make starting difficult (recommended replacement is every 1 month). If there's excessive fuel suction, set the throttle lever from medium to high speed and pull the starter handle. If it still won't start, remove the spark plug, dry the electrode, reassemble, and try again. Other possible causes include a bent fuel tube (straighten it) or a detached plug cap (reattach securely).
