Bluelink Pro is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) interface which allows a
dive computer to communicate with a smart device via a dedicated app.
The smart device must be compatible with Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0.
The app allows the smart device to connect to the dive computer in order
to do the following:
- Read information (such as model and serial number)
- Download the logbook (data download)
- Upgrade the firmware (data upload)
Bluelink Pro is compatible with:
• Puck Pro +
• Smart
• Quad
• Puck Pro (NO firmware upgrade)
• Future Mares products with the same type of connection
Bluelink Pro connects to the dive computer the same way as the standard
cabled interface. Refer to the user manual of the dive computer for a
description of how to do this.
OPERATING MODE
When Bluelink Pro is not in use it remains in a low power mode in order to
preserve the battery. This is referred to as DeepSleep.
To establish a connection to the smart device follow this procedure:
• Place the Dive Computer into “PC Ready” mode. See dive computer
manual for details.
• Connect Bluelink Pro to the dive computer (see picture). Once
connected the LED on Bluelink Pro will turn on to a steady blue for 5
seconds after which it will blink for 55 seconds.
• During these 55 seconds Bluelink Pro is ready to communicate with the
smart device.
• If no communication takes place between Bluelink Pro and the smart
device within these 55 seconds, Bluelink Pro returns to DeepSleep
mode to preserve the battery and the LED turns off. A connection
attempt started now will fail because Bluelink Pro has returned to
DeepSleep mode. To wake up Bluelink Pro in order to initiate a new
connection, disconnect Bluelink Pro from the dive computer then
reconnect it. The light will turn steady blue for 5 seconds then blink for
another 55 seconds.
• To start a communication, open the app and initiate the connection (see
app instructions on how to do this).
• Once the connection has been established, the blue light turns green
and the devices are ready to communicate.
• If once the light has turned green no data is exchanged for 60 seconds,
the LED starts blinking in red to alert the user that the session is
about to expire. If no data is exchanged for another 30 seconds, the
connection is terminated and Bluelink Pro goes into DeepSleep.
• While the light is green or red, as soon as there is data exchange, the
60+30 second countdown is reset to zero.
• If the connection is terminated by the app, for instance because the
user closes the app, Bluelink Pro will show a blinking blue light for 60
seconds, allowing a new connection to be set up during this time.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Battery type: Lithium Ion, 3V, type CR2450
The life of the battery depends on the number of connections performed.
As a reference, with 200 connections per year the battery will last
approximately two years.
To replace the battery, unscrew the bottom cover of the case by removing
the two screws then lift the cover to expose the battery compartment.
Remove the battery and put the new battery in place, making sure you
respect the correct polarity (+ pointing outwards).
PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
Serial number and MAC address are located under the battery
compartment cover.
