Section I: Assembly (4)
(You will need a Phillips screwdriver)
1. Carefully remove all components from the package and check to ensure nothing is damaged. If equipment is damaged,imme-
diately notify the retailer from where the equipment was purchased.
2. The sand lter should be placed on solid, level ground, preferably a concrete slab. Position the sand lter so the Ports and
Control Valve are accessible for operation, servicing and winterizing.
3. EN60335-2-41 TEST standard requires the sand lter to be vertically xed on ground or a certain pedestal made of wood or
concrete before use to prevent the sand lter from accideutally falling. Fully assembled sand lter will exceed 18 kg. The
mounting holes should be 8mm in diameter and spaced 285mm apart. Use two bolts and nuts with a maximum of 8mm in
diameter to fasten the sand lter to the pedestal.
Load pool-grade lter sand. (5)
NOTE: Use only special pool-grade lter sand, free of all limestone or clay: #20 Silica sand 0.45-0.85 mm, approximately one 8.5 kg
bag should suce. If you do not use the recommended size lter sand, ltering performance will be reduced and the sand lter may
damaged, thereby voiding warranty.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the Skimmer when adding sand, pour some water into the Bottom Tank to submerse the Skimmer on the
Collector Hub.
NOTE: sand not included.
1. Use the screwdriver and turn counter clockwise to release the Flange Clamp and remove the Top Tank.
2. Assemble the Collector Hub to the Skimmer by screwing it clockwise.
3. Slowly add the sand so the weight of the sand does not damage the Skimmer, until it reaches between the marked “MAX” and
“MIN”. Do not pour the sand into the pipe of the Collector Hub. #20 Silica sand 0.45-0.85 mm, approximately 8.5 kg.
4. Ensure the O-ring is in place on the rim of the Bottom Tank. Make sure the O-ring and the rim of the Bottom Tank are clean with-
out nicks, tears, scraps or sand. Attach the Top Tank; to the Bottom Tank, place the Flange Clamp over the seam and use the screw
driver to fasten it.
5. Attach the Control Valve to the Top Tank, ensuring the O-ring is in place on the rim of the Top Tank. Make sure the O-ring and the
rim of the Top Tank are clean without nicks, tears, scrapes or sand comma and that the vertical pipe of the Collector Hub is inserted
into the base of the Control Valve.
6. Make sure Port C on the Control Valve is aligned with Port C on the Pump.Attach the Top Flange Clamp and screw into position.
7. Refer to the leaet in the accessory kit to assemble one adapter to one end of the Piping. Attach the Piping with the adapter end
to Control Valve Port C, screw the threaded locking ring into position. Attach the other end of the piping to the Pump Port C, se-
cure and tighten the Hose Clamp. Make sure the Washer or O-ring is properly positioned on both ends of the Piping.
