6-Way Valve Functions

Filter Mode

Water flows through the filtration vessel and back to the pool for normal operation.

Rinse Mode

Water flows without filtration to the waste pipeline or drain tank.

Recirculate Mode

Water circulates without filtration, useful for chemical distribution.

Backwash Mode

Water flows upstream through the vessel to waste, cleaning the filter sand.

Closed Mode

All water outlets are closed; water is not circulating, used for maintenance.

Open Mode

No specific function, used for shutdown and safe winterization.

Filter Vessel Assembly

Install Stand Pipe and Filter Screen

Inserting the stand pipe with the filter screen into the filter vessel.

Position Stand Pipe and Secure Drain Plug

Positioning the stand pipe centrally and screwing in the drain plug.

Center Standpipe with Centralizer

Placing the centralizer on the tank opening to center the standpipe.

Add Filter Sand

Filling the filter vessel with quartz sand up to 3/4 of its height.

Mount Valve Head and Seal

Attaching the valve head and seal to the filter vessel, ensuring cleanliness.

Connect Pump Fittings

Mounting pump fittings to the valve head and sealing them with Teflon tape.

Commissioning of the Filter System

Initial Setup and Safety Checks

Ensuring the system is outside the basin, level, and connections are secure.

Venting the Filter Pump

Opening the pre-filter to allow water flow and vent air, especially for non-self-priming pumps.

Backwashing and Rinsing Procedure

Performing backwash (2-3 min) and rinse (30 sec) cycles before normal operation.

Normal Filter Operation

Running the filter system for recommended daily hours and performing backwashing when needed.

Vacuum Cleaning the Pool

Using the WASTE mode for vacuum cleaning to remove impurities directly to waste.

Problem Treatment

Sand Contaminated with Dirt

Solution: Backwashing the sand to clean it.

Pump Sucks Air

Cause: Defective hoses or loose hose clamps. Solution: Tighten hose clamps.

Skimmer or Pump Gets Too Little Water

Check water level and intake for dirt accumulation.

Skimmer Basket Contaminated

Solution: Cleaning the skimmer basket.

Prefilter Basket Contaminated

Solution: Cleaning the prefilter basket.

To Winterize the System

Drain and Empty System

Remove and empty filter system and hoses by opening drain plugs.

Filter Sand Condition

Verify filter sand condition, clean if necessary.

Outdoor System Storage

Filter systems located outdoors must be stored in a frost-free room.

Care Instructions

Visible Contaminant Removal

Visible contaminants are removed by the filtration system.

Algae, Bacteria, and Microorganisms

Prevention/removal requires special water treatment for clear, healthy pool water.

Floorcleaning

Connect Vacuum Cleaner

Connect pool-floor vacuum cleaner hose directly to the skimmer. Switch off pump.

Prime Vacuum Hose

Fill vacuum cleaner hose fully with water to prevent pump from filtering air.

Vacuuming Technique

Move slowly and smoothly to clean the pool bottom without stirring up dirt.
