Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Martin Audio BlacklineX Series system. Now, with BlacklineX, Martin Audio’s R&D team has
engineereda classicsuiteofpassiveloudspeakersforthemodernera.Deliveringthesignaturesoundofwarmth,nuanceand
claritybutwithimprovedoverallperformanceatapricepoint notpreviouslypossible,BlacklineXisaclean,smartdesignwith
noco
mpromisebetweentheneedsofinstallationand portability.Applicationsrangefromportablesoundreinforcement and
stagemonitoringforlivebands,DJ’sandcorporateevents,toinstallationsinn ightclubs,bars,commercialspacesandHoW.
Comprising four two ‐way systems — from the ultra‐compact X8 to the pow
erfulX15 — and three subwoofers, including an
unobtrusivelow‐profilemodel,themulti‐purposeBlacklineXSeriesraisestheperformanceofloudspeakersystemsinitsclassto
a new level. Each symmetrical, multi‐angle full‐range enclosure features a user rotatable horn for horizontal or vertical
orientation, and has a screw‐free, cloth‐bac
ked steel grille. Comprehensive mounting options include wall bracket, eyebolt
suspension and pole‐mounting. Ergonomic handles at the rear of each full‐range enclosure make for easy handling while
maintainingcleanlinesforinstalledsystemswherehandlesonthecabinet'ssidearelikelytolookobtrusive.
AllBlacklineXSeriesenclosuresareconstructedfrombirch/
poplarplywoodandfinishedwithadurableblacktexturedpaint,with
whiteandcustomRALcolouroptionsavailabletoorder.

BecausetheX8,X10,X12andX15arepassivesystemsembodyingcorrectacousticdesignprinciples,theycanbeusedwithouta
controllerprovidedtheirAESandpeakpowerratingsarenotexceededandcareistakentoavoidamplifierclipping.Formaximum
performance,however,werecommendthatBlacklineXSeriessystemsareusedwiththeMartinAud
ioDX0.5whichisahighly
versatile2input 6outputdigital loudspeakerprocessor,economically pricedtomake itanexcellentmatch fortheBlacklineX
range.AProjectfilewithparametersfortherangecanbedownloadedfromtheMartinAudiowebsiteandca
nquicklyandeasily
beuploadedtoa DX0.5 using the DX0.5softwareapplicationwhich isalso availableasafreedownloade dfromthe Software
sectionontheMartinAudiowebsite.TheMartinaudioDX1.5orDX2systemcontrollerscanalsobeusedandaspreadsheetwith
parametersfortheBlacklineXran
geisalsoavailablefromtheLoudspeakersettingpageintheSupportsectionofthewebsite.
Unpacking
EachMartinAudioBlacklineXSeriesloudspeakerisbuilttothehigheststandardandthoroughlyinspectedbeforeitleavesthe
factory.Afterunpackingthesystem,examineitcarefullyforanysignsoftransitdamageandinformyourde alerordistributorif
anysuchdamageisfound.Itissuggestedthatyouretaintheori
ginalpackagingsothatthesystemcanberepackedatafuture
dateifnecessary.
