Why does my Masport Log Splitter fail to split logs?
    • R
      Rebecca StuartAug 1, 2025
If your Masport Log Splitter fails to split logs, it might be due to several reasons. First, ensure the log is positioned correctly, referring to the ‘Log Splitter Operation’ section for guidance. Alternatively, the log's size or hardness could exceed the machine's capacity; try reducing the log sizes. Other potential causes include a blunt wedge cutting edge, which may require sharpening as described in the ‘Sharpening Wedge’ section, oil leaks (in which case you should locate the leak and contact the dealer), or an unauthorized adjustment to the Max. Pressure Limiting Screw, which also requires contacting the dealer.

What to do if my Masport LS4T-52 Log Splitter has oil leaks?
    • J
      Julie NealAug 11, 2025
If you notice oil leaks around your Masport Log Splitter, it could be due to a few reasons. It's possible that air is sealed in the hydraulic system during operation; in this case, loosen the Bleed Screw by 3 - 4 rotations before operating the log splitter. Another cause might be that the Bleed Screw wasn't tightened before moving the cylinder ram or the log splitter itself; make sure to tighten it before moving. Also, check if the Oil Drain Bolt with Dipstick is tight, and tighten it if necessary. Finally, worn Hydraulic Control Valve Assembly and / or seals could be the culprit, requiring you to contact the dealer.

Why is the log pusher on my Masport LS4T-52 moving jerkily?
    • B
      Brittany SmithAug 22, 2025
If the log pusher on your Masport Log Splitter is moving jerkily and making unfamiliar noises and vibrations, it's likely due to a lack of hydraulic oil and excessive air in the hydraulic system. Check the oil level and refill if necessary. You may also need to contact the dealer.
