Master & Dynamic, a New York City-based company, focuses on building technically sophisticated sound tools that balance aesthetics, strength, comfort, and outstanding sound quality.

Function Description

The MW08 earphones are designed to provide high-quality audio with advanced features for various listening environments. They incorporate Hybrid Active Noise-Cancelling (ANC) to deliver clear, expansive sound by minimizing external noise, and an Ambient Listening Mode to enhance awareness of your surroundings when needed. These World Volume modes allow users to control how much of the external world they hear.

The earphones are true wireless, meaning they operate without any physical connection between them or to a source device. They connect via Bluetooth, allowing for wireless audio streaming and call management. A multi-function button on each earphone provides intuitive control over playback, calls, and voice assistant activation.

The MW08 earphones come with a charging case that not only protects them but also provides additional battery life, ensuring they are ready for use whenever you need them. The case features battery level indicators to keep you informed about the charge status of both the earphones and the case itself.

Usage Features

Controls: The MW08 earphones feature a multi-function button and volume controls (VOL+ and VOL-) on each earphone.

• Multi-Function Button:
  • 1X press: Pause / Play audio.
  • 2X press: Skip to the next track.
  • 3X press: Skip back to the previous track.
  • Hold: Activate voice assistant.
  • Press (during an incoming call): Answer incoming calls (or accept a call from your device).
• VOL+ Button:
  • Hold: Turn "Ambient Listening" mode ON/OFF.
  • Press: Turn Ambient Listening Mode ON/OFF (when using the M&D Connect app).
• VOL- Button:
  • Hold: Turn "Active Noise-Cancelling" ON/OFF.
  • Press: Turn ANC ON/OFF (when using the M&D Connect app).

Fit: The earphones are designed for a superior universal fit, with custom round ear tips engineered to work with the oval nozzle shape. They come with medium ear tips attached, and additional sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL) are provided to ensure a proper seal with your ear canal. To insert the earphones:

1. Tilt the earphone forward with the ear tip resting lightly in your ear canal.
2. Rotate the earphone down until the ear tip forms a seal with your ear canal. If you have difficulty attaching an ear tip, squeeze it to match its orientation to the nozzle, then press it against the nozzle to attach.

Charging: The earphones offer up to 12 hours of charge, and the charging case provides an additional 30 hours, totaling 42 hours of listening time.

• Earphones charge to 50% in 15 minutes and 100% in 45 minutes.
• The case charges to 50% in 15 minutes and 100% in 60 minutes. Battery status is indicated by lights on the charging case:
• Green: 70-100% battery.
• Amber: 30-69% battery.
• Red: 1-29% battery.
• Flashing red or no display (center light): Case battery is depleted. To charge the case, plug the supplied USB-C cable into the right side of the case and connect the other end to a power source. A USB-C to USB-A adapter is included for USB-A power sources. The battery status remains visible while the case charges.

Pairing: The MW08 earphones automatically enter pairing mode the first time they are removed from their case.

1. Open the Bluetooth menu on your device.
2. Select "M&D MW08."
3. (Optional) Download and open the M&D Connect app for enhanced features. To manually activate pairing mode, hold down the multi-function button until the indicator light pulses and a pairing tone is heard. If already connected to a device, remove the earphones from your ears to avoid activating the voice assistant.

Multipoint: The MW08 supports connecting to up to two devices simultaneously.

1. Remove earphones from the case. Press and hold the multi-function button on the right earphone to enter pairing mode. Connect to device 1.
2. Enter pairing mode again; device 1 will disconnect.
3. Connect to device 2 and place the earphones back in the case.
4. Remove earphones from the case; they will automatically connect to both device 1 and device 2 simultaneously.
5. Pause playback on one device and play from the other to switch connections.

Mobile App (M&D Connect): The M&D Connect app enhances the Master & Dynamic experience. It provides access to:

• Firmware updates.
• Custom settings.
• Quick start guides.
• Product support. Before using the app, ensure your MW08 earphones are connected to your phone via the Bluetooth menu settings. The app allows access to additional ANC and Ambient Listening Modes and enables selection of default World Volume settings.

Factory Reset: If the earphones are no longer paired to each other, a factory reset can resolve the issue:

1. Remove the Left earphone from the case (leave the Right earphone in the case).
2. Quickly press VOL+ on the Left earphone 6 times, and hold on the 6th press until you hear "factory reset."
3. Remove the Right earphone from the case.
4. Quickly press the Multi-Function button on the Right earphone 6 times, and hold on the 6th press until you hear "factory reset."
5. Place both earphones next to each other. They are paired when the LEDs stop flashing and start "breathing" as they would during Bluetooth pairing.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

• Proximity Sensor: Over time, the proximity sensor (which regulates pause/play) may become dirty and affect performance. If this happens, gently rub the sensor with a damp Q-tip or damp cloth.
• Earphone Ceramic: Use a microfiber cloth to clean the earphone ceramic. Do not use alcohol or other cleaning substances.
• Charging Pads and Pins: Ensure the charging pads on the earphones and the charging pins in the case are clean. Use a damp Q-tip or damp cloth to lightly rub them.

Storage:

• It is recommended to return the earphones to their storage case when not in use to prevent damage.
• Do not store other items in the canvas case along with your earphones.

Environmental Protection:

• Avoid dropping, sitting on, or exposing the earphones to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
• The earphones are IPX5 water-resistance rated, and the charging case is IPX4 rated.
• Temperature Range: Operate and store the product within -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C) only. Charge the battery between 41°F and 104°F (5°C and 40°C) only.

Ear Health: Master & Dynamic emphasizes the importance of ear health. To protect your hearing:

• Avoid listening "too loud or for too long."
• Be attentive to your ears; ringing, discomfort, or sensitivity to high frequencies may indicate damage.
• Find your preferred listening level, then adjust the volume down by 10% or more. Your ears will attune to a slightly lower volume over time, making quieter levels suitable for longer listening periods.
