What to do if my Master 123340 motor will not run?
    • C
      Cody HurleyAug 5, 2025
If the motor of your Master Water Pump isn't running, there are several potential causes. First, ensure the disconnect switch is turned on. If it is, check the fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset it if necessary. Also, examine the wiring at the motor to ensure that all wires are correctly connected and tightened. If the starting switch is defective, disconnect the power and replace the starting switch.

Why does my Master 123340 Water Pump motor run hot and overload, or just hum?
    • E
      eclayAug 17, 2025
If your Master Water Pump's motor runs hot and the overload kicks off, or if it only hums, it could be due to incorrect wiring. Refer to the wiring instructions to ensure it's properly connected. Another cause might be low voltage. Check the voltage being supplied to the motor and consider installing heavier wiring if the wire size is too small.

How to increase water delivery capacity of my Master Water Pump?
    • J
      joshuadoyleAug 23, 2025
If your Master Water Pump isn't delivering water to its full capacity, the water level in the well might be lower than estimated, requiring a deep well jet if the depth to water is more than 25’. Corroded or limed steel piping can cause excess friction; replace it with plastic pipe if possible, or new steel pipe. Ensure the piping isn't too small by re-piping using the size of the suction and discharge ports on the pump. If the pump isn't getting enough water, consider adding additional well points.

What to do if my Master Water Pump leaks around the clamp?
    • D
      David PowellAug 29, 2025
If your Master Water Pump is leaking around the clamp, stop the pump and tighten the clamp nut by 1-2 turns. Alternately tighten and tap on the clamp with a mallet to seat the O-Ring. Be careful not to overtighten the clamp.

Why is my Master 123340 motor running but not delivering water?
    • P
      Patrick WillisNov 10, 2025
Several issues could prevent your Master Water Pump from delivering water even when the motor is running. If it's a new installation, the pump may not have picked up its prime, so re-prime it according to the instructions. Check all connections on the suction line for air leaks, using soapy water or shaving cream to identify them. Inspect the foot valve or check valve for leaks and replace if necessary. Ensure the pipe size matches the suction and discharge ports on the pump. Other potential causes include a lost prime (check suction line and shaft seal), water level below the suction pipe inlet (lower the suction line), a plugged impeller (clean it), a stuck check valve or foot valve (replace them), frozen pipes (thaw them), or a foot valve/strainer buried in sand or mud (raise and clean ...
