TIPS FOR USING WOOD CHIPS
• Therewillbealotofsmokeproducedwhenusingwoodchips.Smokewillescapethroughseamsandturn
theinsideofsmokerblack.Thisisnormal.
• Woodchipsmustbeusedinordertoproducesmokeandcreatethesmokeflavor.Neverusemorethan1
cupofwoodchipsatatime.Neverusewoodchunks.
• Woodchipsshouldbelevelwithtoprimofwoodchipbowl.
• Youmayusedryorpre-soakedwoodchipsinyoursmoker.Drychipswillburnfasterandproducemore
intensesmoke.Chipspre-soakedinwater(forapproximately30minutes)willburnslowerandproducea
less intense smoke.
• Ifwoodchipsdonotsmokeonlowsetting,increasetemperature.After8to10minutesorwhenwoodchips
begintosmolder,reducetemperaturetodesiredlowsetting.
• Checkwoodchipbowlperiodicallytoseeifwoodhasburneddown.Addmorechipsasneeded.
•Donotleaveoldwoodashesinthewoodchipbowl.Onceashesarecold,emptybowl.Bowlshouldbe
cleanedoutpriorto,andaftereachusetopreventashbuildup.
