- Do not perform jointing operations on material shorter than a dimension equal to the cutter

- Do not perform planing operations on material shorter than a dimension equal to the cutter
head length plus 2" (5 cm), narrower than 3/4" (19 mm), or wider than the cutter capacity in
inches, or thinner than 1/2" (125 mm).
- Maintain the proper relationships of infeed and outfeed table surfaces and cutter head knife
path. Loss of control of the workpiece can cause serious injury.
- Support the work piece adequately at all times during operation; maintain control of the work
at all times.
- Do not back the work towards the infeed table.
- Do not attempt to perform an abnormal or little-used operation without study and the use of
adequate hold-down/push blocks, jigs, fixtures, stops, and the like.
