3. Test will begin – taking ~30 seconds to complete is normal.
A completed test will display the console’s available download speed.
Minimum requirements per console:
Basic internet functions (Asset Management & software updates): 512 Kbps
Standard definition streaming: 3 Mbps
High definition streaming: 5 Mbps
If the download speed meets minimum requirements and problems continue, consider further
troubleshooting:
App & Program Issues
Internet Connection Issues
Wi-Fi signal strength is also visible on the Product Dashboard. The following signal strength levels are
expected:
Excellent if signal is 0dBm to -35dBm
Good if signal is -36dBm to -55dBm
Okay if signal is -56dBm to -70dBm
Poor if signal is -71dBm to -200dBm
Latency Test
When advised to check the speed & performance of your network, we recommend using Fast.com from
a connected computer or cell phone, ideally near the console.
Note: This is not done on a Touch or TouchXL console. This test is done on another device, in order to
measure the quality of the network consoles may connect to.
When performing the Bandwidth Test to diagnose network quality, it is advisable to also click on the
More Info button after the speed test is completed (fast.com). This will provide the unloaded & loaded
latency values, as well as the upload speed. Note: Poor latency values can make a fast network seem
slow. Latency is measured in milliseconds (ms). Always perform Bandwidth Test at non-peak hours to
avoid network congestion suggesting falsely concluding the network speed is poor.
Unloaded Latency
Excellent – Less than 5ms
Good – Less than 10ms
Average – Between 10ms to 20ms
Poor – Greater than 20ms
Loaded Latency
Excellent – Less than 10ms
Good – Between 10ms and 20ms
Average – Between 20ms and 40ms
Poor – Greater than 40ms
