The MAXXFAN is a ventilation system designed for recreational vehicles (RVs), offering a range of models with varying features for optimal air circulation. It is designed to fit into a standard 14 by 14-inch RV roof opening, with a minimum roof thickness of 2 inches and a maximum of 6 1/2 inches. If the roof thickness is less than 2 inches, additional material can be added to the ceiling opening to ensure proper installation. The MAXXFAN requires a minimum 12 Volt DC, 5 amp service, and users should confirm that their existing circuit can accommodate this additional load, using proper gauge stranded wire for electrical connections.
The MAXXFAN provides ventilation by drawing air into or exhausting air from the RV cabin. Depending on the model, it can be operated manually or automatically. Manual opening models feature a knob to open and close the vent lid, which must be pulled to unlock before turning and pushed in to lock. Automatic opening models allow for the vent lid to close automatically in the event of RV power loss, and some models include a rain sensor that will automatically turn off the fan and close the lid if moisture is detected.
Many MAXXFAN models include a "Ceiling Fan Mode," which is activated by closing the vent lid while the fan motor is running. In this mode, the fan continues to run, circulating air within the RV cabin without drawing air from outside. This is particularly useful for maintaining internal air circulation.
The MAXXFAN also incorporates a self-resetting fuse on the circuit board located in the ceiling assembly. If the fan fails to operate or needs a reset, power can be removed and re-applied to reset the fuse.
The MAXXFAN offers various control options depending on the model, including keypad controls, remote controls, and wall controls.
Keypad controls are integrated into the ceiling assembly and allow users to turn the fan on and off, adjust fan speed, and, in some models, reverse the fan direction (intake/exhaust).
Remote controls offer convenient operation from anywhere within the RV.
Various wall control options are available, including 1-switch, 2-switch, 4-key, 5-key, and 6-key models, each offering different functionalities.
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of the MAXXFAN.
