  If gas is not flowing to the burner and the ignitor glows red on your Maytag range, check the ignitor current draw (it should be between 3.2 and 3.6 Amps); replace the ignitor if it fails this test. Verify that the gas pressure is correct: natural gas should be at 4" WCP, and LP gas should be at 10" WCP. Check the gas valve for continuity. Also, make sure all wire connections are clean and tight, and replace any broken wires.
