Why does my Maytag Washer keep stopping?
    • M
      Melissa MartinAug 13, 2025
If your Maytag Washer stops mid-cycle, ensure it's plugged into a live electrical outlet and check the fuse or circuit breaker. Verify that the control dial is set to the correct cycle and the START/STOP button is fully pressed. Make sure the door is closed properly and the START/STOP button is pressed. Also, the washer might be in a pause or soak period, so wait briefly to see if the cycle continues. Check for low water pressure and avoid running other appliances simultaneously. Ensure hose connections are tight, the drain hose is correctly inserted, and avoid overloading the washer. The washer should be leveled properly with rubber feet installed on the leveling legs, and the leveling leg lock nuts should be tightened. Weak floors can also cause vibration.

If the tub of your Maytag Washer is completely full of suds, run the washer through another complete cycle using cold water. Reduce the amount of detergent you're using for the load size and soil level. Use high-efficiency or low-sudsing detergent specially formulated for front-load washers.

What to do if my Maytag Neptune SL-3 won’t spin or drain?
    • M
      Madeline GreenAug 25, 2025
If your Maytag Washer won't spin or drain, first check the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. Make sure the drain hoses are straightened to eliminate any kinks. Also, ensure the door is fully closed and the START/STOP button is pressed, as the washer won't spin unless the door is closed and locked. After pressing the START/STOP button, allow a few moments for the door to lock before the spin cycle begins. If there is a drain restriction, call for service.

    • N
      Natalie MullenAug 31, 2025
If your Maytag Washer fills with the wrong temperature water, ensure both faucets are fully turned on and the temperature selector button is fully depressed. Verify that the temperature selection is correct and the hoses are connected to the correct faucets and inlet connections. Flush the water line before filling the washer. Check the water heater setting to ensure it delivers a minimum of 120°F (49°C) hot water at the tap, and check the water heater capacity and recovery rate. Also, disconnect the hoses and clean the screens, as they may be plugged.
