      If your Maytag Washer won't start, stops working, or the wash light stays on, make sure the lid is completely closed. The washer is designed not to run if the lid is open. Also, the washer will pause during certain phases, so avoid interrupting the cycle. It may also stop to reduce suds. If the washer is tightly packed, remove several items and rearrange the load evenly. After this, close the lid and press START/Pause/Unlock. Avoid adding more than one or two additional garments after the wash has started, and do not add extra water.

Regular detergents can cause excessive suds, slowing or stopping the washer. Always measure HE detergent and follow the instructions based on your load size. To remove suds, cancel the current cycle, select RINSE & SPIN, and press START/Pause/Unlock. Do not add more detergent.
