Why won't my Maytag Washer run or fill?

To ensure your Maytag Washer runs, make sure both water hoses are properly attached and have water flowing to the inlet valve, and that both the hot and cold water faucets are fully turned on. Also, inspect the inlet valve screens for any clogs that may be restricting water flow. Check the inlet hoses for kinks that could impede water flow. Ensure the power cord is plugged into a grounded 3-prong outlet, avoiding the use of extension cords. Verify that the outlet has power and that the voltage is adequate; if necessary, have an electrician check the electrical source. Reset any tripped circuit breakers or replace blown fuses. The washer door must be completely closed and latched to operate. If the issue persists, it's possible the washer is pausing during a cycle or to reduce suds.
