      If your Maytag Washer won’t run or stops working, make sure both water hoses are properly attached and have water flowing to the inlet valve. Ensure the door is completely closed and latched. If overloaded, remove several items and rearrange the load evenly. Plug the power cord into a grounded 3-prong outlet, avoiding extension cords, and ensure the outlet has power. Check that inlet valve screens are not clogged and that there are no kinks in the inlet hoses. You may also need to reset a tripped circuit breaker or replace blown fuses. If voltage issues are suspected, check the electrical source or call an electrician.

      If your Maytag washer is not draining or spinning and loads are still wet, first check that the drain hose is not clogged and is not positioned more than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor. Ensure the drain hose fits loosely but securely in the standpipe without being taped. Remember that cycles with lower spin speeds remove less water than cycles with high spin speeds. A tightly packed or unbalanced load may also prevent the washer from spinning correctly. Check the drum for any small items sticking through the holes. If using the Overnight Wash & Dry cycle, only use it for 2–4 lightly soiled synthetic garments.
