• Start slowly and increase your speedgradually. DO
NOTrevtheengineordroptheclutch.Ifthetractor
is attached to a heavy load, or immovable object,
improperclutchingmaycauseoverturn(Fig.2-30and
2-31).
• Ifthefrontpartofthetractorbeginslifting,disengage
theclutchatonce(Fig.2-29).
• If your tractor is bogged down in mud or frozento
theground,DONOTattempttodriveforwards.The
tractorcanspinarounditsrearwheelsandoverturn
(Fig.2-29).Liftanyattachedimplement and attempt
toBACKOUT.Ifthisisnotpossible,towitoutwith
anothervehicle.
• Ifyougetstuckinaditch,BACKOUT,ifpossible.If
youmustgoforward,doitslowlyandcarefully.
• Whendrivingonaslopewithatrailerhitchedatthe
back you should drive the tractor in forward gear
whenmovingbothuphillanddownhill.
• Atractorwithaloadedfront-end(e.g.loader,bucket
etc.)andwithoutareartrailershouldbebackeddown
theslopeandtravelforwarduphill.Alwayskeepthe
loaderbucketaslowaspossible.(Fig.2-31b)
• Alwayskeepthetractoringearwhengoingdownhill.
Neverletthetractorcoastwithclutchdisengagedor
transmissioninneutral.
