Read instructions, be familiar with controls, operator responsibilities, and training needs.
Reduce fire risk, inspect for debris, wear proper footwear, and inspect the area for objects.
Operate in well-lit areas, disengage blades, avoid slopes over 15°, and be aware of ground conditions.
Keep fasteners tight, store fuel safely, cool engine, keep engine area clean, check grass catcher, replace worn parts.
Mount the extension shaft, main shaft cover, and secure the steering wheel.
Install the extension shaft for the steering wheel assembly.
Secure the seat to the seat pan and tighten the bolt. Adjust seat for comfortable position.
Slide seat until comfortable position is reached, allowing full pedal travel.
Identify and understand the location and function of key controls on the tractor.
Controls the operation of the headlights, if equipped.
Regulates engine revs and blade rotation speed.

Sit on seat, depress brake, set parking brake, ensure cutting unit is in transport and disengaged position.
Warm up transmission for 1 minute in neutral before driving. Safety switch interaction.
Use drive pedals to control direction and speed.
Lower cutting unit, select speed based on terrain and desired results.
Use right turns to throw grass away from beds. Change direction for large lawns.
Use the left side to cut close to trees and bushes.
Check oil, lubricate pivots, check fasteners, battery, air screen, and brakes.
Avoid high-pressure water. Use compressed air or leaf blower. Clean steering plate.
Remove the blade bolt securing the blade. Reassemble securely.
Park tractor, lower lift lever, remove dirt, and remove belt from pulleys.
Install belt around pulleys, then onto clutch pulley. Check routing. Raise lift lever.
Adjust mower side-to-side by turning lift link nut until grass appears evenly cut.
Measure blade distance to ground on both sides and adjust for equal height.
Check fuel, plug, connections, carburetor, and fuel pipe.
Check battery, contacts, position lever, fuse, ignition lock, safety contacts, and pedal.
Check gear, plug, carburetor, air filter, fuel tank ventilation, ignition, and fuel pipe.
Check air filter, plug, carburetor/fuel pipe, and carburetor setting.
Check for engine overload, blocked air inlet/fins, fan damage, oil level, ignition, or plug.
Check fuse, cell condition, and battery contacts.
Check headlight connector, bulbs, switch, and cable for short circuits.
Check for loose blades, engine, or imbalance.
Check for blunt blades, skewed deck, long/wet grass, grass under cover, tire pressure, gear, or slipping belt.
Clean machine, touch up paint, change oil, drain fuel tank, remove/recharge battery, store indoors.
