      Anthony LeAug 18, 2025
If you're experiencing low or no suction with your Medela Breast Pump, ensure the pump set is assembled correctly as per instructions. Verify all connections to the pump set and breast pump are secure. Ensure the breast shield forms a complete seal around the breast. Check that the white valve membrane lies flat against the yellow valve head and both are clean and undamaged. Confirm the tubing ends are firmly connected, the rubber seal is correctly secured to the piston, and the piston/cylinder is correctly screwed onto the cylinder holder or breast shield. If pumping on one side, ensure the port cap is inserted into the unused opening on the cylinder holder. Avoid kinking or trapping the tubing, and ensure all components are completely dry.
