1.1 CER OPA 3 Standard Rinse Software Upgrade Kit, consists of the following items:
NOTE: CER Represents all current and previous Medivators Models listed
below: CER-1, CER-2, MV-1, MV-2, 5001, 5001X, 5002V,
5002VX.

1.2 The following tools are required for the installation:
1.2.1 Phillips Screw Driver
1.2.2 Chip extraction tool or a small flat screwdriver
1.2.3 Chip insertion tool (optional)
1.3 Install OPA compatible software chip
1.3.1 Turn the unit OFF.
1.3.2 Unplug the power cord from the unit.
1.3.3 Remove (5) Phillips screws from the right side panel and remove the panel.

1.3.4 Remove the micro controller software chip from the motherboard using a chip extraction
tool or small flat screwdriver.
Caution: When plugging in the new chip:
• Ensure that all pins are lined up with the socket.
• Ensure that the chip is fully inserted.
• Ensure that the notch in the chip is positioned upwards.
1.3.5 Plug in the new chip.
Caution: Do not touch the motherboard while the unit is plugged in.
1.3.6 Plug in the power cord.
