6. To start the engine, pull the starter cord
slowly until it catches and then pull
quickly. Keep hold of the starter handle
when the cord pulls in after starting. If
the cord is pulled in too quickly the starter
handle could cause personal injury and/or
material damage. Repeat, if necessary.
7. Slowly move the choke lever to the closed
position when the engine warms up. If
the engine stops, start it again and let it
run for a while with the choke half-open
before slowly moving the choke lever to
the closed position (no choke).
Electric start
1. Plug the plug into a 230 V earthed power
point.
2. Put the ignition knob in ignition mode.
3. Set the throttle lever in the high revs
position.
4. Use the choke if the engine is cold.
5. If the engine is cold, block the ventilation
hole and press the primer bulb 3–5 times.
If the engine is warm, block the ventilation
hole and press the primer bulb once.
6. Press the start button. Release when the
engine has started. The starter motor has
an overload protection that trips if the
engine overheats. The starter motor must
cool before attempting to start again.
7. Slowly move the choke lever to the open
position when the engine warms up. If
the engine stops, start it again and let it
run for a while with the choke half-open
before slowly moving the choke lever to
the open position (no choke).
8. Unplug the plug from the power point
rst, and then from the snowblower.
DRIVE LEVER
The drive lever is placed on the right handle.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting
from the engine being run with too little oil.
NOTE:
Check the engine’s oil level on a at surface
with the engine turned o.
1. Remove the oil ller cap with the dipstick
and wipe the dipstick.
2. Ret the ller cap with the dipstick
without tightening.
3. Remove the oil ller cap with the dipstick
again. Top up the oil if the level is too low.
The correct viscosity and oil volume are set
out in the engine maintenance section.
NOTE:
Do not overll. This can cause the engine to
smoke, be dicult to start or cause soot on
the spark plug.
4. Replace the ller cap with the dipstick and
tighten before starting the engine.
FIG. 7
STARTING THE ENGINE
NOTE:
• Check that the auger lever and the drive
lever are in the neutral position
(upwards) before starting the engine.
• Check the oil level before starting.
Manual start
1. Open the fuel valve.
2. Put the ignition knob in ignition mode.
3. Set the throttle lever in the high revs
position.
4. Use the choke if the engine is cold.
5. If the engine is cold, block the ventilation
hole on the primer bulb and press 3–5
times. If the engine is warm, block the
ventilation hole and press the primer bulb
once.
