AFTER USE
Clearing the ejector
The clearing tool sits in a holder on the back
of the auger housing. Clear the ejector in
accordance with the instructions below.
1. Put the auger lever and drive lever in
neutral.
2. Remove the clearing tool from the holder.
3. Clear away snow and ice with the clearing
tool.
WARNING!
Never attempt to clear the ejector when the
engine is running. Never attempt to clear
the ejector with your hands, use the clearing
tool or a stick. Replace the clearing tool in
the holder and start the engine. Stand in
the driving position behind the handle and
engage the auger for a few seconds to throw
out any residual snow and ice from the
ejector chute.
PRACTICAL TIPS
If possible, aim the ejector in the direction
of the wind.
Overlap each lap.
Set the skid shoes 6–7 mm below the
shave plate for normal snow clearing.
If the snow is rmly packed the skid shoes
can be moved up so that the shave plate
comes closer to the ground. When
working on gravel the skid shoes can be
moved down so that the shave plate
comes further away from the ground.
Always clean the snowblower after use.
MAINTENANCE
Press the auger lever with the handle in to
activate the auger, release to stop the snow
blowing.
Function check of auger lever
1. When the auger lever is in neutral (up)
there should be very little play in the wire,
but it must not be overtightened.
2. Stand in the driving position behind the
handle and engage the auger.
3. Allow the auger to remain engaged for
about 10 seconds and then release the
auger lever. Repeat several times.
4. Allow the engine to run with the auger
lever in neutral. Go round in front of the
machine.
5. Check that the auger has completely
stopped.
6. Start the engine and check that the auger
engages and disengages correctly.
IMPORTANT:
Go back to the driving position
immediately if the auger starts to move
and switch o the engine. Wait until all
moving parts have completely stopped
and adjust the auger wire.
Run a function check before the machine
is used for the rst time, and before
using it at the start of the season.
SWITCHING OFF
1. Allow the engine to run without load for
a few minutes before switching it o to
remove any moisture.
2. Move the throttle lever to the low revs
position (tortoise symbol).
3. Switch o the engine by turning the
ignition key to STOP.
4. Wipe all the controls on the engine dry.
