TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTE:
Switch o the clearing saw and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before
troubleshooting.
Contact an authorised service centre if the problem cannot be xed by using the troubleshooting
chart.
PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE ACTION
The engine will not start, or starts
but then stops.
The trimmer head is not tted
correctly.
Check that the trimmer head is
correctly tted.
The fuel is nished, or old. Make sure the fuel in the tank
fresh.
Incorrect starting procedure. Follow the starting instructions.
Dirty spark plug/incorrect electrode
gap.
Clean/adjust the spark plug.
Clogged air lter. Clean/replace air lter.
Carburettor fault. Contact a service centre.
The engine starts, but has no
power.
Fault on the line spool. Replace line spool.
Clogged air lter. Clean/replace air lter.
Carburettor fault. Contact a service centre.
The engine does not run smoothly
and has no power at high speed.
Dirty spark plug/incorrect electrode
gap.
Clean/adjust the spark plug.
Carburettor fault. Contact a service centre.
The engine smokes. Incorrect fuel mixture. Check the fuel mixture.
Carburettor fault. Contact a service centre.
The trimmer head rotates when
the engine is idling.
Incorrectly adjusted carburettor. Contact a service centre.
The clearing saw vibrates
abnormally.
Damaged or loose parts. Check and tighten any loose parts.
The engine overheats. Working period too long. Take regular pauses to allow the
clearing saw to cool.
