Do NOT attach the lung-governed demand valve to the equipment
connector for this test.
Connect the SCBA to the medium-pressure testing hose.
Connect the lung-governed demand valve to the medium-pressure testing
hose.
Connect the medium-pressure testing hose to the tester.
Connect the breathing-air cylinders.
Open the breathing-air-cylinder valves.
Briefly release pressure via the lung-governed demand valve.
Perform the test against the specifications provided by the equipment
manufacturer.
Strap the mask onto the dummy head.
Connect the testing hose to the tester and the mask.
Move the “suction pump” lever to the “OPEN” position.
Press and hold the pump push-button.
Let the pressure build up until it is slightly higher than the level required
for testing and move the “suction pump” lever to the “CLOSED” position.
Release the pump push-button.
Release pressure via the relief valve until the level required for testing is
reached.
Perform the test against the specifications provided by the equipment
manufacturer.
