Engine Cranks But Will Not Start
Possible Cause Remedy
Improper starting procedure. Read starting procedure.
Empty fuel tank or fuel shut off
valve closed.
Fill tank or open valve.
Faulty fuel pump, wiring, 5 amp
fuse, 50 amp circuit breaker or one
of the pump relays.
Replace faulty component.
Engine flooded.
Do not attempt to start engine for at
least five minutes. Refer to Starting
Procedures.
Faulty ignition system component. Service ignition system.
Lanyard Stop Activated. Reset.
Obstructed fuel filter. Replace filters.
Stale or contaminated fuel.
If contaminated, drain tank and fill
with fresh fuel.
Fuel line or tank vent line kinked or
restricted.
Replace kinked lines or blow out
lines with compressed air to
remove obstruction.
Crankshaft position sensor
defective.
Test and replace if defective.
Fuel pressure regulator sensor
hose leak.
Test and replace if defective.
