Gear Shifting

IMPORTANT: Never shift outboard into gear unless engine speed is at idle. Do not shift outboard into forward or
reverse when the engine is not running.
• The outboard has three gear shift positions to provide operation. Forward (F), Neutral (N) and Reverse (R).

• When shifting, always stop at neutral position and allow the engine speed to return to idle.
• Panel mount remote control requires the operator to always press shift lock while moving the control handle
out of the neutral position.

• Advance the control lever to further increase speed.
