This document provides installation and usage instructions for the Kiri Mk2 Low Flow Shower with Easy Fit Kit (KRLFCTSEFLP) by Methven.

Function Description:

The Kiri Mk2 Low Flow Shower is a thermostatic mixing valve designed to deliver water at a safe and consistent temperature for personal hygiene. It includes an Easy Fit Kit for simplified installation. The shower system features a handset slider, soap dish, and hose retainer on a rail, allowing for adjustable height and convenient use. The thermostatic mixing valve ensures that the water temperature remains stable, even with fluctuations in the hot and cold water supplies, and incorporates a cold water fail/safe shut-off mechanism for safety.

• Cold Water Fail/Safe Shut-off: Designed to reduce flow to a trickle or stop completely if the cold water supply fails, with the mixed water temperature remaining below 46°C.

Usage Features:

• Adjustable Handset: The handset slider, soap dish, and hose retainer can be adjusted vertically on the rail to suit individual preferences. The slider button faces upward for easy adjustment.
• Temperature Control Handle: The temperature control handle is marked at 38°C for a standard mixed temperature. It can be adjusted by removing the cap and screw, then rotating the spindle (anti-clockwise to increase, clockwise to decrease) to achieve the desired temperature.
• Easy Fit Kit: Designed to simplify the installation process, including mounting brackets and threaded connectors that facilitate alignment and secure fitting.
• Low Flow Design: Implies water efficiency, contributing to reduced water consumption.

Maintenance Features:

• Cleaning: The product has a high-quality finish and should be cleaned regularly with contamination-free warm water and a damp soft cloth. Abrasives, abrasive cleaning agents, chlorine bleach, or hydrochloric acid should not be used as they can damage the finish.
• Warranty: A 5-year warranty is provided, subject to terms and conditions. Proof of purchase is required. The warranty does not cover faults or damage from incorrect installation/maintenance, ordinary wear and tear, or water composition.
• Regular Testing: The valve should be tested at commissioning and thereafter at stated intervals (never greater than 12 months) to ensure correct operation. This includes checking the mixed water temperature with a thermometer and performing a cold water fail/safe shut-off test.
• Debris Flushing: During installation, the pipework should be flushed of any debris to prevent premature blocking of the bar valve filter and maintain performance.
• Professional Servicing: If the outlet temperature drifts by more than 2°C or the fail/safe function does not work, a full service or re-commissioning by a competent person is recommended. Methven provides a contact number for further advice.
• Waterproof Seal: Installers are responsible for ensuring a waterproof seal is achieved during installation, particularly around pipework and wall linings, to prevent leaks.
• Filter Maintenance: The bar valve includes filters in the inlet unions, which should be correctly located and maintained to ensure optimal performance.
