Function Description

The Midea R410A Domestic Pools & Spas Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) is designed for heating domestic pools and spas. It operates on a heat pump mode, absorbing heat from the outdoor environment and releasing it into the water. The unit is equipped with a titanium heat-exchanger, which offers high resistance to corrosion and eliminates the need for a secondary heat-exchanger, thereby reducing installation costs and improving overall system efficiency. The system uses environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant, ensuring no discharge of poisonous gas and minimal environmental pollution. It features easy operation and automatic control via a wired controller with an LCD display. The unit includes automatic start-up, shutdown, and defrosting functions, and operates effectively within an outdoor temperature range of -7 °C to 38 °C, unaffected by night, overcast skies, rain, or snow. Multi-temperature sensors continuously monitor the unit's operating status.

  • Wide Operating Range: Operates effectively in outdoor temperatures from -7°C to 38°C for heating and 15°C to 43°C for cooling.
  • Safety Features: Includes high-pressure protection, compressor over-load protection, evaporator pipe temperature over-high protection, and anti-frozen protection.
  • Water Flow Switch: Monitors water flow to ensure proper operation and prevent damage.
  • Temperature Sensors: Multiple sensors (T1, T3, T4, T5, T6, Tp, Tout) monitor various temperatures (outlet water, heat-exchanger, outdoor ambient, inlet water, compressor discharge, pipe) to ensure optimal performance and protection.

Maintenance Features

  • Self-Protect Function: The compressor has a 3-minute protection delay before restarting, safeguarding the unit.
  • Defrosting Function: During heating operation, the unit automatically performs defrosting when necessary. The air supply motor may stop, and a steam cloud may appear from the back of the unit during this process.
  • Protection Device: If a protection device operates, the unit stops, and the wired controller indicates a malfunction code.
  • Regular Checks:
    • After long periods of inactivity, inspect the air intake/outlet for blockages and remove any foreign substances.
    • Check pipes and valves for damage or blockages, and connection sites for leakage.
    • Verify the unit stand and fittings for damage to prevent falling.
    • Regularly operate the pressure-relief device to remove lime deposits and ensure it is not blocked.
  • Error Codes: The controller displays specific error codes (E2, E3, E4, E5, E7, E9, EE, P0, P4, P6, PF, Pb) to help diagnose malfunctions, such as communication errors, sensor failures, water flow issues, or pressure problems.
  • RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker): An RCCB is recommended for installation in the external power supply box and should be checked periodically (at least once a month) by pressing the test button to ensure it functions correctly.
  • Power Cable: The power cord type designation is H07RN-F. The manual provides guidelines for selecting appropriate wire sizes based on continuous length and capacity to ensure safe electrical connections.
