Function Description:

The Midea dishwasher is designed for household use to clean dishes, pots, pans, and other tableware by spraying a mixture of hot water and detergent through spray arms. It features a continuously filtered wash system that removes food particles, which are then drained out and replaced with clean water. The number of water fills varies depending on the selected cycle. The dishwasher also incorporates a rinse aid dispenser to improve drying performance and reduce water spots and filming.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: 120 V, 60 Hz
  • Capacity: 8 Place Settings
  • Dimensions (W x D x H): 17.6 x 22.6 x 32.4 inches (450 x 575 x 825 mm)
  • Water Feed Pressure: 20 psi - 80 psi (0.14 MPa - 0.82 MPa)
  • Water Supply Temperature: 120°F to 150°F (49°C to 66°C)
  • Electrical Supply: Individual 120 V, 60 Hz, 15- or 20-amp fused electrical supply with copper wire only. A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended, and a separate circuit for the appliance is advised.

  • Controls:
    • POWER: Turns the dishwasher on/off (press for 3 seconds).
    • DELAY START: Programs the dishwasher to start a selected wash cycle 1 to 24 hours later.
    • CYCLES: Selects washing programs with corresponding indicators. Available cycles include:
      • HEAVY: For heavily soiled items like pots, pans, casseroles, and dinnerware with dried-on or baked-on soil.
      • NORMAL: Recommended for a full load of normally soiled dishes with the Heated Dry option selected. (Energy label based on this cycle with upper rack raised).
      • ECO: Most efficient program for normally soiled tableware in terms of combined energy and water consumption.
      • DELICATE: For lightly soiled loads such as glasses, crystal, and fine china.
      • QUICK: For lightly soiled loads, similar to Delicate.
      • RINSE: For pre-rinsing dishes or glasses to prevent food from drying and reduce odor buildup.
    • CHILD LOCK: Locks all controls to prevent accidental changes or starts (press for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate).

      • HEATED DRY: Activates the heater during the drying process, adding time to the cycle.

    • START: Initiates the selected cycle.
    • PAUSE: Allows adding or removing items during a cycle. Open the door slightly, wait for spray arms to stop, add/remove items, close the door, and press START to resume.

  • Dish Preparation: Scrape off large food pieces, bones, pits, and toothpicks. Loosen burned-on foods. Empty liquids from glasses and cups. Rinse off acidic food soils if the dishwasher won't be operated immediately. Ensure the food disposer is empty if connected.
  • Loading:
    • Upper Basket: Designed for small plates, mugs, glasses, and "dishwasher safe" plastic items. Place bowls, cups, and glasses with soiled surfaces facing down or toward the center, tilted slightly for drainage. Load small plates and bowls in two half rows. Ensure loaded dishes do not obstruct the upper spray arm.
    • Lower Basket: Designed for plates, soup bowls, saucers, and cookware. Features adjustable space (up to 11 inches height) and fold-down tines for larger items. Load plates in two half rows, facing each other.
    • Silverware Basket: Can be divided into three modules for use in upper or lower racks. Load sharp items (knives, skewers) pointing down to prevent injury. Ensure loaded dishes do not obstruct the lower spray arm.

  • Detergent Dispenser: Push the cover release catch to open. The flap remains open at the end of a cycle.
  • Rinse Aid Dispenser: Uses liquid rinse aid only. Improves drying and reduces spots. Check viewing port for low levels. Lift the end tab to open, fill until full (do not overfill), and press down to close. Do not use regular detergent or powdered rinse aid.

Maintenance Features:

  • Exterior Cleaning: Clean spills with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid benzene, wax, thinner, chlorine bleach, alcohol, or direct water spraying on electrical parts. For stainless steel panels, use a stainless steel cleaner.
  • Interior Cleaning: Wipe with a wet dishcloth. Periodically run an empty Normal or Express 60 cycle with detergent and the Sanitize option. If white spots or odor persist, run an empty Normal cycle without detergent, then interrupt the cycle, add 8 ounces of white vinegar to the lower basket, and let the cycle finish. Do not remove the tub front seal.
  • Filter Cleaning:
    1. Turn off the dishwasher.
    2. Rotate the filter insert counterclockwise to unfasten and detach.
    3. Remove the fine filter (flat, rectangular).
    4. Remove dirt and rinse filters under running water.
    5. Reassemble in reverse order, rotating clockwise to the close arrow. (Caution: Improperly closed filter decreases performance).
  • Lower Spray Arm Cleaning: If cleaning is inadequate or nozzles are clogged, remove the spray arm by pulling it upwards, clean the nozzles, push back into place, and rotate to check proper seating.
  • Door Gasket Cleaning: If the door isn't closing properly or water is leaking, clean the door gasket with a damp cloth to remove debris and ensure a tight seal.
