Overview

This document is an owner's manual for a Midea Washing Machine, providing comprehensive instructions for its installation, operation, and maintenance. It emphasizes safety precautions throughout to ensure proper and safe use of the appliance.

Function Description

The Midea Washing Machine is designed for household use and similar applications, such as staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast environments, and communal laundrettes. Its primary function is to wash textiles suitable for machine washing. The machine offers various washing programs tailored to different laundry types and levels of soiling, including specific programs for jeans, delicate items, bulky loads, and a quick wash option. It also features an "Air dry" function for drying clothes without heating, suitable for items that are not easily faded or deformed and are non-waterproof. A "Tub clean" program is included to clean the drum and prevent cross-infection. The "ECO" program is designed for lightly contaminated clothes to save water. The "Fuzzy weighting" function automatically selects the water level based on the load weight, though users can manually set the water level if preferred.

Usage Features

The washing machine is designed for ease of use with a clear control panel. Before the first wash, it is recommended to operate the machine through a full cycle without clothes inside. The basic operation involves powering on, selecting a program, choosing the water level, and starting the wash. If a default program is selected, the water level and program selection steps can be skipped.

Key usage features include:

  • Program Selection: Customers can choose from a variety of washing programs based on their laundry needs.
  • Water Level Adjustment: The machine offers eight water levels, from lowest to highest, allowing users to select the appropriate level based on clothing categories, degree of soiling, and personal habits.
  • Customizable Settings: Users can adjust washing time, rinsing times, and spinning time to personalize their wash cycle.
  • One Touch Smart Wash: This feature simplifies the washing process, allowing for quick starts.
  • Single Process or Combinations: Customers can set single processes (wash, rinse, spin) or combine them as needed.
  • Child Lock: To prevent accidental operation by children, a child lock function is available. It can be activated by pressing two specific buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds and locks all buttons except the On/Off button. Cutting off the power supply will release the child lock.
  • Detergent Usage: The manual advises using non-foaming or less-foaming detergent suitable for machine washing. For agglomerated or ropy detergents, dilution with water before pouring into the detergent box is recommended to prevent blockages and overflows. Users should select detergents appropriate for the washing temperature to optimize performance and minimize water and energy consumption.
  • Laundry Preparation: Before washing, users should check clothing labels, empty pockets of all items (sharp objects like coins, brooches, nails, screws, or stones can damage the machine), knot long strips, zip up items, and button clothes. Small clothes should be placed in a pillow slip, and easy-pilling or long-pile fabrics should be turned inside out. Clothes with different textures should be separated.
  • Eccentricity Warning: When washing a single item, the machine may experience significant eccentricity, leading to an alarm due to unbalance. It is suggested to add one or two more items to ensure smooth draining.
  • Post-Wash Notification: After the washing cycle is complete, the buzzer will sound, and the power supply will automatically cut off. Users should wait two minutes before opening the door.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for extending the working life of the washing machine. The manual outlines several maintenance procedures:

  • Safety First: Before any maintenance, the appliance must be unplugged from the mains, and the water supply tap should be closed.
  • Cleaning the Cabinet: The exterior surface of the machine can be cleaned with diluted non-abrasive neutral detergents. Any water overflow should be wiped off immediately with a wet cloth. Sharp items should not be used. Formic acid, diluted solvents, alcohol, or other chemical products are forbidden for cleaning the cabinet.
  • Cleaning the Inlet Filter: If the water flow is reduced, the inlet filter needs cleaning. This involves unscrewing the inlet pipe from the back of the machine, pulling out the filter with long-nose pliers, cleaning it with a brush, and then reinstalling the filter and reconnecting the inlet pipe.
  • Cleaning the Lint Filter: The built-in lint filter collects lint during the wash cycle. It is recommended to clean it every 10 cycles. To clean, remove the filter, wash it with water, and then place it back into the washer.
  • Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter: The drain pump filter traps yarns and small foreign matters. It should be cleaned periodically to ensure normal operation. The process involves draining water from the pump into a container, opening the filter by turning it counter-clockwise, removing any extraneous matter, cleaning the filter, and then restoring and tightening the pump cover clockwise. Users are warned to be careful of hot water and to allow the detergent solution to cool down. The pump cover should never be removed during a wash cycle, and users must wait until the appliance has finished its cycle and is empty. When replacing the cover, it must be securely re-tightened.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as no washing, no water flow, abnormal draining, and abnormal spin. It suggests inspection items and corresponding solutions. If problems persist or other alarm codes appear, users are advised to contact the service center.
