8.1.7 Tighten the locknut against the spring-adjusting nut to lock the setting.

8.1.8 Retest the valve STD and determine how much pressure change occurred when the spring-
adjusting nut was rotated two (2) turns. Based upon this calculation, re-compress the valve spring
and alter the valve adjustment for the midpoint in the STD tolerance range.

8.1.9 If the test results are erratic, troubleshooting is more complex. Consult your supervising engineer
or a Midland representative.
8.1.10 When the test results are acceptable, tighten the top nut to the required torque in Table 1-2.
