Installation recommendations
When deciding on the safety distance
between the hob and cooker hood,
please note that a distance of
650mm above electric cookers/hobs
may be preferable to give more work-
ing space under the hood.
Account should also be taken of the
height of the person who will be us-
ing the hood most often. They should
have sufficient space to work com-
fortably at the hob, and be able to
reach the cooker hood controls with
ease.
Please be aware that if positioned too
high, extraction will be inefficient.
To achieve optimum vapour extrac-
tion, the cooker hood must be
centred over the hob, not to the side
or behind it.
The hob should be no wider than the
cooker hood, and if possible, it
should be narrower.
The installation area must be easily
accessible. The cooker hood should
be easily accessible and easy to dis-
mantle in the event that service is re-
quired. This should be taken into
consideration when planning the pos-
ition of cupboards, shelves, ceilings
or features in the vicinity of the
cooker hood.
Electrical connection
Installation, maintenance or re-
pair work by unqualified persons
could be extremely dangerous. The
manufacturer cannot be held liable
for unauthorised work.
All electrical work should only be un-
dertaken by a suitably qualified and
competent electrician in strict ac-
cordance with current national and
local safety and building code regu-
lations.
This cooker hood must only be connec-
ted to a properly installed power supply.
The electrical installation must be in
compliance with current local and na-
tional safety regulations, (e.g. VDE0100
in Germany/BS7671 in the UK).
For increased safety we recommend the
use of a residual current device with a
trip current of 30mA (DINVDE0664).
A suitable means of disconnection must
be provided on site for each pole. Suit-
able means of disconnection include
switches with an all-pole contact gap of
at least 3mm. These include circuit
breakers, fuses and contactors
(EN60335).
The relevant connection data can be
found on the data plate (see “After
Sales/Warranty”). Ensure that this data
matches the voltage and frequency of
your household power supply.
