Surgical Instruments
The wait-time before processing
surgical instruments should be as short
as possible and should not exceed two
hours.
For surgical instruments with a longer
wait time, use the OXIVARIO or
ORTHOVARIO process (see section on
"Optional Equipment").
The disinfection of surgical instruments,
even those for minimally invasive
procedures, is carried out thermally.
Whenever possible, demineralized
water should be used for rinsing
(conductivity ß 15 ZS/cm), for a
spotless result and to avoid corrosion.
The use of tap water with more than
100 mg chloride/L entails the risk of
corrosion.
Hinged instruments should be open
when loaded into the mesh trays, and
staggered to avoid covering other
instruments.
The mobile units for surgical
instruments come with their own
instructions for use.
When processing instruments for
minimally invasive procedures, e.g.,
minimal invasive surgery,itis
essential that the insides be thoroughly
cleaned before washing. Only the
programs DES-VAR-TD and
OXIVARIO (optional) are suitable for
thorough cleaning. Always observe the
specific loading regulations and all
applicable procedures, including the
use of appropriate detergents for these
sensitive instruments.
For rinsing, use demineralized water
with a conductivity of ~15 ZS/cm
(microsiemens per centimetre).
Instruments with a particularly
narrow bore must be precleaned
manually if necessary. Observe the
instructions of the instrument
manufacturer!
