EXTENSION
CORD
CHART
When
an
extension
cord
is
used,
it
should
also
be
a
3
wire
cord
to
permit
proper
grounding
of
the
tool.
As the
distance
from
the
supply
outlet
increases,
heavier
gauge
extensions
are
required.
The
use
of
extension
cords
of
inadequate
size
wire
causes
a
serious
drop
in
voltage,
loss
of
power
and
possible
motor
damage.
This
table
is
based
on
limiting
line
voltage
drop
to
5 volts
at
150%
of
rated
amperes.
