Overview

The Milwaukee M-SPECTOR 360™ Rotating Inspection Scope is a versatile tool designed for detailed visual inspection in various environments. It is not intended for medical or personal inspection. The device is powered by a 12-volt MILWAUKEE® battery pack, ensuring portability and cordless operation.

Function Description

The primary function of the M-SPECTOR 360™ is to provide visual access to hard-to-reach areas. It features a camera at the end of a flexible cable, allowing users to navigate through confined spaces. The camera is equipped with LEDs to illuminate the inspection area, and their brightness can be adjusted to suit different lighting conditions. The captured image is displayed on a rotating LCD screen, which enhances usability by allowing the user to orient the display for optimal viewing regardless of the tool's position.

Usage Features

To operate the inspection scope, the user first needs to ensure a charged battery pack is securely inserted into the tool. The device is turned on by pressing the Power button. The Fuel Gauge will briefly light up to indicate the remaining battery charge. If the tool remains unused for 5 minutes, it will automatically enter sleep mode to conserve battery life, and can be reactivated by pressing the Power button again.

Before beginning any inspection, it is crucial to assess the work area for potential hazards. This includes checking for electrical, chemical, or moving hazards. When inspecting behind walls, circuit breakers for the entire area should be shut off. For pipe inspections, it is essential to ensure there is no electrical charge in the pipes. The cable and camera should not come into contact with liquids, especially to prevent them from flowing into the tool. When used for automotive inspections, the engine should be turned off and allowed to cool, and the camera or cable must not contact oil, gas, or other corrosive materials.

The flexible cable can be adjusted to best fit the opening of the inspection area. Once the cable is inserted, the camera LEDs can be adjusted to one of four brightness levels or turned off entirely using the dedicated brightness increase/decrease buttons. The rotating LCD screen is a key feature, allowing the user to grasp the LCD housing and turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise up to approximately 270° to achieve the most comfortable viewing angle.

Accessories can be attached to the camera by hooking them over the front and snapping a clip over the back end. To remove accessories, the clip is pulled up, and the accessory is unhooked.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and safe operation of the M-SPECTOR 360™. Users should always remove the battery pack before cleaning or performing any maintenance. The tool, battery pack, and charger should never be disassembled, and any repairs should be handled by an authorized MILWAUKEE® service center.

Regular maintenance includes keeping the tool, battery pack, and charger in good repair. After six months to a year of use, depending on the frequency of use, it is recommended to return the tool to an authorized service center for lubrication, mechanical inspection and cleaning (including gears, spindles, bearings, and housing), electrical inspection (battery pack, charger, and motor), and testing to ensure proper mechanical and electrical operation.

For general cleaning, dust and debris should be cleared from the charger and tool vents. The tool handles should be kept clean, dry, and free of oil or grease. Only mild soap and a damp cloth should be used to clean the tool, battery pack, and charger. Certain cleaning agents and solvents, such as gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia, and household detergents containing ammonia, can be harmful to plastics and other insulated parts and should be avoided. Flammable or combustible solvents should never be used around the tools.

It is crucial to never immerse the tool, battery pack, or charger in liquid, nor allow liquid to flow inside them, as this can cause personal injury and damage. If the tool does not start or operate at full power with a fully charged battery pack, the contacts on the battery pack should be cleaned. If the issue persists, the tool, charger, and battery pack should be returned to an authorized service center for repairs.

Maintaining labels and nameplates is also important, as they carry vital information. If they become unreadable or go missing, users should contact the store where the product was purchased or an authorized MILWAUKEE® service center.
