If the media adheres to the platen
NITOFLON® is supplied with the product. If the media adheres to the platen and cannot be fed normally, solve the problem
by sticking the NITOFLON® onto the platen. Follow the procedure below to do this.
Prepare the following items for sticking the NITOFLON®.
NITOFLON® No.973UL-S ............. ............................................Accessory Scissors
Alcohol or diluted neutral cleansing agent (for degreasing) Bemcot (for degreasing)
(1) Turn the power off.
(2) Open the under cover L, and pull the maintenance cover
down.
(3) Remove the thumbscrew, then remove the media press
stopper.
(4) Remove the media presses on the platen (left and right),
by sliding them.
(5) Wet a Bemcot with the alcohol or diluted neutral
cleansing agent, wring it out well, and use it to wipe the
platen clean of grease.
(6) Stick the NITOFLON® onto the platen.
Stick 5 strips of NITOFLON® on, aligned with the suction holes, from
the platen’s right edge to its left edge.
(7) Put the media presses back in their original places, and reinstall the media press stopper.
(8) Put the under cover L and maintenance cover back in their original places.

• Take care that the suction holes are not blocked by the
NITOFLON® strips.
