6. Replacement and Cleaning of Fuel Filter
Replacement
Filters are cleaned every 50 hours, and
exchanged every 200 hours.
Cleaning
(1)Close the fuel shut-off valve
(2)Loosen the filter cup-retaining nut. Remove
filter element and clean inside of filter cup.
(3)Frush the filter element with a new diesel fuel,
or exchange it for a new one.
(4)Assemble filter cup and retaining nut to filter
body.
- Be sure O-ring is in place on the filter body
and filter cup.
(5)Open the fuel shut-off valve and vent the fuel
system. See Air Vent Procedure in this
manual.

7. Air Vent Procedure
(1)Open the Fuel Shut-off Valve.
(2)Starter Key Switch is turned to the

position.(Engine not running.)
(3)Loosen the air vent screw on the fuel filter.
Keep it until the fuel flowing from the fuel filter
becomes free of air bubbles.Tighten the air
vent screw.
(4)Fuel system air removal is finished. Then, the
engine can be started.
(5)If the engine won't start,(2)(3)can be operated
again.
