The GL600 GPS Smart Lock is an intelligent remote GPS lock designed for monitoring containers or assets. It integrates 2G/3G cellular network connectivity, GPS+LBS positioning, and RFID reading capabilities, allowing users to track location and door status wirelessly. The device is equipped with a built-in 10400mAh rechargeable lithium battery (up to 12800mAh optional) and a 3-axis acceleration sensor for motion and vibration detection. It supports dual Micro SIM cards, automatically selecting a SIM card to register with the network, and offers 4G customization.
The GL600 provides real-time location querying via SMS commands and supports remote unlocking through SMS passwords or a dedicated mobile application (Android/iOS). For situations without cellular network coverage, the device can be unlocked on-site using authorized RFID tags. It features automatic locking when the lock rope is inserted and can store up to 50 authorized RFID tags.
The device supports up to 10 geo-fences, allowing for alerts when the asset enters or exits a defined area. It also allows for 5 VIP numbers to receive SMS alerts and send commands. The GL600 is designed to detect various events and trigger alerts, including lock rope tampering, unauthorized RFID tag swipes, unlocking events, wrong password attempts, vibration, geo-fence entry/exit, low battery, and back cover opening.
Comprehensive locking and unlocking reports are generated, detailing the method of operation (lock/unlock), RFID tag ID (if applicable), report time, and whether the operation was successful or failed. The device can be woken up by several conditions: vibration, back cover opening, RFID tag swipes, lock/unlock events, and a Real-Time Clock (RTC) interval (every 30 minutes). Firmware upgrades can be performed over-the-air (FOTA).
To begin using the GL600, a SIM card must be installed. The device supports Micro SIM cards, and it's crucial to ensure the SIM card's SMS/Cellular Network service is active and that any PIN lock is disabled. The GL600 is powered on by turning a switch, and its status is indicated by various LED lights and buzzer sounds. A blinking yellow LED every 3 seconds indicates a low battery, prompting the user to charge the device using a 5V DC adapter for approximately 8 hours.
The device automatically locks when the two probes of the lock rope are inserted, accompanied by a motor running, two buzzer rings, and a single GPS LED blink. If locking is unsuccessful, the buzzer will ring every 1 second, and the GPS LED will keep blinking until the lock rope is correctly inserted or after 60 seconds.
Unlocking can be done remotely by sending a specific SMS command with a password to the SIM card number inside the GL600. Upon successful remote unlock, the buzzer will ring continuously for 3 seconds, and the GPS LED will blink for 3 seconds, after which the lock rope can be removed. Alternatively, the device can be unlocked on-site by swiping an authorized RFID tag. Successful RFID unlock is indicated by two buzzer rings and a single GPS LED blink. Swiping an unauthorized RFID tag will result in a continuous 3-second buzzer ring and a 3-second GPS LED blink, and the lock will remain closed. It is important not to swipe multiple RFID tags simultaneously, as this may prevent unlocking.
The GL600 typically enters a sleep mode when there is no external wake-up source and wakes up according to the RTC wake-up interval (default 30 minutes). When a wake-up event occurs (e.g., RFID swipe, back cover opening, vibration, lock rope disconnect/connect, RTC time interval), the device will operate for approximately 10 minutes, uploading data at the configured interval (default 30 seconds).
The GL600 provides LED indicators for various statuses:
Buzzer instructions also provide feedback on device status:
Device initialization and configuration can be performed via SMS commands, including setting VIP numbers, configuring IP port and GPRS network parameters for both SIM cards, and setting data uploading and RTC wake-up time intervals. The device can also be restarted or restored to factory settings (excluding IP address, VIP numbers, APN, and APN account/password) via SMS commands.
The GL600 is designed for easy installation, featuring a strong magnet to attach to a container body, and the lock rope is simply inserted through the lock hole.
