15. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF THE ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR
The ARDEA MOBILITY range of devices by Moretti are CE marked and carefully checked
before being placed on the market. For the safety of the patient, your device should be
checked at least once every year by the manufacturer or an authorised laboratory to verify
its suitability for use. Use only original replacement parts and accessories for repairs.

Battery indicator - Check the battery
indicator to see whether the battery
needs charging

Controller / Display - Check for
damage and exposed cables

Check that the sockets and cables
are not loose

Check that the batteries are
completely charged before daily use

Check that all bolts and tight
•
Check that the lighting system
is working properly (if present)

WHEELS AND TYRES
Check the tyre pressure

The front and rear wheels must
rotate smoothly without any
obstruction

The front and rear wheels must
rotate without wobbling

Inspect the tread of the tyre.
If it is less than 1 mm (1/32”),
replace it with a new tyre
(available from your local retailer)

OTHER
The motor brushes. It is recommended
to have them checked by an
authorised retailer every six months,
if the electric wheelchair does not
function properly. If the inspection
shows that the brushes are excessively
worn, they must be replaced to avoid
damage to the motor
